Rotmans is proud to be an official drop off location for a great organization called Cell Phones for Soldiers.
Cell Phones For Soldiers is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing cost-free communication services and emergency funding to active-duty military members and veterans. CPFS was founded 1n 2004 by philanthropist teenagers Brittany and Robbie Bergquist. They have created a wonderful organization that has assisted thousands of military personnel, veterans and their families.
Cell Phones For Soldiers has two programs:
Minutes That Matter – this program provides free calling cards to active-duty military members to connect with loved ones. In 2014 alone, Cell Phones For Soldiers distributed more than 9.3 million minutes of free talk time!
Helping Heroes Homes – this program assists veterans with emergency funds to alleviate communication challenges as well as physical, emotional and assimilation hardships. Since July 2012, Helping Heroes Home has assisted more than 2,800 veterans and their families with emergency funding.
So how can you help? Cell Phones For Soldiers relies on donations of gently-used cell phones to provide a lifeline for America’s bravest. Drop off your old cell phones, smart phones or tablets at Rotmans and we’ll package them up and ship them to CPFS. With this simple, powerful donation your cell phone, smartphone or tablet helps you become a hero to our nation’s heroes. Your mobile phone gets responsibly recycled and proceeds from that process fund the charitable programs that truly provide a lifeline to troops and veterans.
