How To Game Plan For The Ultimate Football Get-Together!

The first leaves of the season are falling from the trees in the yard (Sigh). No doubt a sign of more to come, but, rather than be sad and to look back on the sensational summer that was, let’s take a look forward at the amazing Fall to be!

Summertime can be a magical time but make no mistake about it, there’s nothing quite like Autumn in New England. Just think of those perfectly pleasant days to come followed by crisp, cool New England afternoon and evenings. There are fabulous fall festivals to look forward to, mouth-watering maple syrup and caramel apples, old-fashioned hay rides, visits to pristine pumpkin patches, and what may be the very best of all – FOOTBALL Season!

Gathering together with family and friends to watch “The Game” on Sundays is a uniquely American tradition that has become a downright national obsession. And there is no better place on the planet to watch football than with friends and family than right here in New England where we have a certain Championship team to cheer on! When the leaves start to turn from green to shades of bright orange, red, yellow, and brown, we turn our attention from yard work and other activities to meeting up with family, neighbors, co-workers, college buddies, and friends to watch football together. But we don’t just “watch” the game, oh no, there are the traditions we keep like dressing in our favorite team’s colors, the chips, dips, snacks, subs, sandwiches, and other fun football foods we make, and of course the superstitions – like always sitting in the same seat to watch the game. And speaking of sitting, if you’re playing host for a football party this season then first and foremost you’ve got to make sure that you have a great place for your guests to sit down when they’re watching all of the touchdowns!

Touchdown On A Comfortable Couch, Sofa, or Sectional!

Start with a comfortable couch or sofa, you can find one in a 2-seat or 3-seat size, or even an oversized model. Then,… mix in an accent chair, lounge chair, or upholstered chair of your choosing or – for maximum comfort – select a reclining (or power reclining) chair to complete your game plan. If you regularly host a larger crew, then you can’t go wrong with a sectional sofa. One of the greatest things about a sectional is that it seats a lot of people and you can even continue to add pieces/sections over time until you can seat an entire team of guests! If you really want to score a touchdown with your guests then select a sectional with recliner or power recliner options, or even one that includes custom cup or drink holders or a place to store or hold your game day snacks. Or, go for the extra point by bringing home the ultimate in luxury lounging for the game – authentic theater seating! Worried about that untimely drink drop or food fumble? Don’t be. High quality leather can be quickly and easily wiped clean and today’s stain-resistant fabrics make clean-up a breeze so there’ll be no harm and no foul.

What else do you need for the ultimate game day gathering? How about some assorted tables so that you can strategically place soda, snacks, and other big game goodies close by so that your guests can tackle them without missing any of the game. There are plenty of options to choose from as well to meet your needs from traditional cocktail/coffee tables to taller and longer sofa or console tables as well as end tables and accent tables/cabinets. Choose from classic, country, or contemporary styles or anything in between along with tables made from hardwood, glass, metal, and more. If you’re still looking for more table space, consider adding a fun and functional pub table – or gathering or counter height table – to your living room, entertainment area, or game room as well.

So you’re there to watch the football game, right?! Well,… if you want to see the game in all its glory then you need to set your flat screen up in the ideal spot so that everyone has a clear view of the action. Want some advice?  – do NOT put your new flat screen up on top of the box that it was packaged in. Bad idea. After setting yourself up with a sofa or sectional as well some essential snack tables keep the momentum going and go all the way by selecting a quality TV stand, media console, or an entertainment center to display your flat screen or TV. If a TV stand or entertainment center is not your style then you also have the option of using a TV wall mounting kit instead. The choice is yours.
